I cant help but smile while reading this article. I mean, is this some kind of a joke? But yeah, I think you have a point right there. It is not impossible at all that a classroom can be so much fun just like playing. Dont you think this could be vulnerable to abuse and misuse though?

Hi
I was thinking that we should try and disengage our children from to much gaming.
Now I read that this is starting to be brought into the classroom by teachers. I don't mean to sound rude or controversial but can this honestly be good? Doesn't it kind of distance teachers away from children. We should be teaching them integration and socializing skills.

I think this is going in the wrong direction totally. Maybe I am old fashioned in my views on teacher child relationships.

This is very cool. We have been looking at a lot of ways to bring gaming into the classroom responsibly in my ed tech class this semester. I think this makes a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing.

Also, I have launched a free online professional development forum for teachers to participate in lesson study: http://eachtoteach.weebly.com This is not-for-profit...just a graduate school project of my own!

It's fun, fresh and filled with great tools and tips. Busy teachers will be impressed with how much they gain from the time invested. Awesome!

Prezi is really cool! I made a music theory prezi for a friend over the break, as a way of learning about the tool and answering his questions. Prezi seems to be a really good way to express the structure of thoughts.
I hope you win the contest!

It is sad that Google Wave is going away before it every really took off, but I have found that almost every one of it's key features are slowly migrating over Google docs. My business and my colleagues at BSU love to use the document chat, and the live editing and highlighting as a collaborative space, and I honestly think the way docs incorporates chat and live editing is a lot more user-friendly and intuitive.

Have you guys put polleverywhere.com on the schedule yet? My students just love a chance to text in class, and it offers great visualizations for their feedback. I think it also gets some of the non-talkers more involved in class.
